The aim of the GETI (Green Energy Transition Info) web site is to make available extensive reference information on the transition to green energy and electric vehicles.  This includes technical and economic aspects, and the debunking of some common myths about these technologies.

GETI includes links to more detailed information, estimates of the future expansion of various green technologies, and access to simple models.

The information on GETI mainly comes from research for outreach purposes, including responding to online comments on articles in various UK newspapers and English-language green and EV technology websites.

GETI will be most useful to those who already have a basic understanding of electricity grids and technologies.  The aim is not to describe from scratch what a wind turbine or solar panel is – reference sites such as Wikipedia cover such an initial education requirement.  Rather, GETI is a repository for the information I would have liked to have known up front, before having to research it myself.

The future plans for GETI include:-

  • expanding the list of topics covered.
  • adding a comment facility for registered users only
  • updating the statistics for each green technology once a year or as key information becomes available
